Flavors of Alveo's Southern Passions

The tour in Alveo South's properties isn't enough to savor all senses except the sense of taste so they prepared food that best describes how it would taste. The food being prepared is something original and was inspired by the Alveo properties. They were created by the famous chefs in the country had to offer in this event, Southern Passions, hosted by Shannen Torres. After the presentation of the Alveo properties, we were oriented with the dishes that was served.
Sapak Punch

Chef Jackie and host Shannen

For starters, we were given a welcome drink named Sapak Punch. The welcome drink was created by Chef Jackie Laudico of Bistro Filipino and Bfast. The drink was mixed with lambanog because it best describes the active living in Venare Nuvali.
Chef Florabel
Smoked Bangus and Salted Egg Spring Roll

We were then treated with the appetizers like the Smoked Bangus and Salted Egg Spring Roll with Mango Salsa on shot glasses. I never tried appetizers so unique and this mouthful. Inspired by Treveia Nuvali's nature theme, the appetizer is prepared with organic dishes and was created by Chef Florabel Co-Yatco of Felix, Crisostomo, Sumosam, and Florabel's.
Chef Roxs

Cream of Wild Mushroom Soup

After the appetizers, it was followed by the Cream of Wild Mushroom Soup with Tortilla Crisp, Tomato Brunoise, Fresh Herbs, and Parmesan. The soup was inspired by the suburban living at Verdana Homes Mamplasan. The soup was created by Chef Roxs Cailao of Katre. I am familiar with mushroom soups but this one varies. I nver thought tortillas was used instead of croutons would be ideal for mushroom soup and the flavor was also unique.

My tastes buds are not yet finished when the salad was topped with Laguna Kesong Puti and Balsamic Vinaigrette. The salad also best described Treveia Nuvali since it used to be a plantation and since its in Laguna, it was added a Laguna flavor with it's kesong puti(white cheese). The salad was an idea by Chef Florabel.

The Main Course was prepared by Chef Rox with a young Lamb with Olive Oil, Garlic and Rosemary, served on a bed of Orzo Pilaf which is mistaken for rice but it was actually noodles. It also describes Verdana Homes Mamplasan. Chef Roxs compares Verdana's suburban living like Mediterranean in the South which is the reason why he created this main course.
Lamb on a bed of Orzo Pilaf

Most of us were almost satisfied with the main course that we hope that there is still room for us for dessert. Chef Jackie prepared natural ingredients for dessert that also describes Venare Nuvali's active lifestyle with the Panutsa-inspired Roasted Peanut Tart, Bulo nd Lambanog Chocolate Praline, Barako Tablea Flourless Cake Garnish with Coconut Tuille.

Gabby Concepcion is the new face of Sustagen Premium

Gabby Concepcion is named as the endorser of Sustagen Premium. Gabby Concepcion is a likely image model since he himself in in the prime of his life and admits he's already 40 and that a healthy lifestyle is necessary. He is still youthful despite his actual age because he keeps his health under control. Gabby Concepcion suggests that we should try the test set up by Sustagen Premium to find out if our actual age is compatible with our body age. You could be 35 but you may have the body age of 50.

The body age test aims to find out if our bodies are getting older than our actual age. I took the test to evaluate myself and I found out that my body age is older than my actual age by six months. Based on the results, the nutritionist gave me a prescription what can I do maintain my body age to the actual age. Even before going to this presscon, I already tried Sustagen Premium and it doesn't mean it is for old people. The ingredients are not that harmful for other people so even if you are as young as twenty can take Sustagen Premium.

McDonald’s Launches 24/7 Mobile Delivery Service

After pioneering the one number delivery system 8-McDo (2002), 24/7 Delivery Service (2005), online delivery website www.mcdelivery.com.ph (2009), and the no minimum food purchase requirement (2010), McDonald’s once again takes delivery service another step further and introduces another first -the first cashless mobile ordering system.

Introducing a third way for customers to access McDelivery, McDonald’s partners with Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), the leader in electronic banking, and launches the BPI-i.Can Mobile Mall’s McDelivery Service. Now, BPI customers can order and pay for their favorite McDonald’s meals through their mobile phones, anytime, anywhere. This cashless mobile ordering system also allows customers to have the food delivered to another, making it easier for the on-the-go Filipino to share his McDonald’s favorites to his family, loved-ones and friends.

To access the BPI-i.Can Mobile Mall, a BPI Express Online Account user must register to the BPI Express Mobile Service, and download and activate the BPI-i.Can Mobile Mall applet. From there, customers may choose from the McDelivery Menu, from its World Famous French Fries, Big Mac, Cheeseburger, to Chicken McDo, McSpaghetti and Hot Fudge Sundae.

Mobile Mall is available for McDelivery transactions in Metro Manila and key cities nationwide such as Laguna, Lipa, Tarlac, Cebu, and Davao. For more information on BPI-i.Can Mobile Mall’s McDelivery, log on to www.mybpimag.com.

Flamed at the Midnight Mercato

At the Midnight Mercato, I stumbled upon this stall that grills spare ribs and more. What great about the food they serve is that they cooked it immediately after you order and you can be assured that they are delicious.

I ordered their triple beef burger and since it was a not easy to be eaten by hand, I had to slice it with the knife and fork which was provided while a TV crew was taking video of me.

The Midnight Mercato opens at 10:00PM-3:00AM every Friday to Saturday at 30th avenue and 9th street near The Spa at Bonifacio High Street, Taguig. You can check out Flamed Facebook Page

Midnight Food Madness at the Midnight Mercato

The Bonifacio Global City is now one of the busiest commercial district because of the progress it made. The Mercato Centrale not only serves the nearby residents but also those who are working in the offices. Since BGC also housed banking and call centers companies, people need some place to grab something to bite even at the late hours. Thus launched the Midnight Mercato. The Midnight Mercato provides variety of choices of food and provides atmosphere for you to dine in and hang out within the vicinity or simply take out. The food is not what you really can see in the malls and convenience store so it is something for you to experience.

I haven't been to the Mercato Centrale yet during day time. But I am completely impressed with the food available and you can be assured it's clean and cooked right in front of you. During the launch last February 11, I got to try some takoyaki, a grilled burger from Flamed, barbecue, the chilled taho, and the tamarind juice. You can also buy organic products from Negros for you to take home.

The Midnight Mercato is also located on the same site as the Mercato Centrale at the corner of 30th Avenue and 9th Street across The Spa at Bonifacio High Street in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. It opens every Friday and Saturday from 10:00 PM to 3:00 AM.

The Midnight Mercato is brought to by Go Negosyo, Citibank, the City of Taguig, RockEd, GeiserMaclang Marketing Communications Inc., Foodie Delivery, Luxe by Goldilocks, Jam 88.3, Wave 89.1, Magic 89.9, 99.5 RT, 103.5 WOW, PEP.PH and SPOT.PH.

GREAT NEWS FOR PINOY PIZZA LOVERS: DOMINO’S PIZZA IS NOW DELIVERiiing!

Each day, more than 1 million customers enjoy hot, delicious Domino’s Pizza products on every inhabited continent on Earth. It is no wonder that Domino’s Pizza is the recognized world leader in pizza delivery.

Domino’s exists to fulfill a basic need for its customers – to provide a high quality, freshly prepared, hot meal delivered on time, every time. The company pioneered the pizza delivery business, and its total system sells more than 400 million pizzas worldwide every year. There are more than 9,000 Domino’s Pizza stores in more than 65 countries, employing over 175,000 team members, and involving over 2,000 franchisees.

The great news for Pinoy Pizza lovers is that Domino’s Pizza has arrived HOT and FRESH in THE PHILIPPINES!
Tong Hong, CEO of Domino's Pizza Phils.

“Domino’s is all set to take the local pizza industry by storm,” enthused Tong Hong, the President and CEO of Domino’s in the Philippines. “Pizza is a US$35 billion per year industry, and Filipinos are well-known pizza lovers. Precisely because it is such a good fit, our company is confident that we will be able to fully develop and expand in this market at a very good pace,” he added.

Hong’s observation appears to be spot-on, as the company’s flagship store in Marvin Plaza, Pasong Tamo has exceeded all their initial sales targets. This has further encouraged them to fast track the opening of the second Domino’s branch in Silver City, Frontera Drive (Tiendesitas) along Julia Vargas Avenue. “Originally, the plan was to open eight stores in Metro Manila by the end of the year,” Hong explained. “Because of the amazing performance of our Marvin Plaza branch, however, we may have to reconsider this,” he added.

In overseas markets, Domino’s is best known by their 30-minute guarantee, which offers customers a money-back assurance if their orders are not delivered to their doorstep within half an hour. To this end, Domino’s Philippines has invested heavily in its delivery infrastructure in order to fulfill the same promise. This includes a full scale, logistics management software called PULSE™, which is specially designed and exclusively used by Domino’s Pizza. “Pizza delivery is a passion for us – it’s both art and science,” Hong affirmed. “From the time our phone rings and the order is placed, to the moment our delivery rider arrives safely at your door, each step is synchronized with thorough precision,” he further pointed out.

Indeed, this passion for Pizza delivery is exemplified through the innovations that Domino’s has introduced to its industry. Over the years, the company has invented – or been the first to use – most of the equipment and systems that are now considered trade standards. These include the fiberglass case, the corrugated pizza box, the 3-D car-top sign used in delivery vehicles, and of course, its patented Domino’s Heatwave™ delivery bags, which quite literally acts as a portable oven to bring piping hot pizza to your door.

“Remember, the 30-minute delivery time is only the first part of the guarantee,” Hong emphasized with respect to the Heatwave™ bag. “The pizzas must also arrive hot and fresh. Our special delivery bags use a technology that creates a portable oven, minimizing heat loss during during transit,” he explained. “The outer material of the bag is made with water-repellent nylon, and the interior is lined with a cutting edge material called Thinsulate, which eliminates moisture and maintains that fresh-from-the-oven taste,” he further said.
At present, the Domino’s menu offers nine flavors of pizza, including bestsellers like the Domino’s Deluxe, Potato Pizza, Extravaganza, Shrimpus, and Hola Spain. Aside from pizza, Domino’s also carries Buffalo Chicken Wings, Meaty Bolognese, Creamy Alfredo Spaghetti, Cheesy Bread, Garden Salad and Chocolate Lava Cake []

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Domino’s Pizza Philippines recently held its formal ribbon-cutting ceremony (at the Marvin Plaza branch), led by Makati Mayor Junjun Binay, Agricultural Counselor of the US Department of Agriculture, Embassy of the United States of America Philip Shull, award-winning actress and multimedia celebrity Kris Aquino, and award-winning actor and director Albert Martinez.

This activity was simulcast live via web-streaming to members of the media and other guests waiting at Strumms restaurant in Jupiter Street, Makati City. To underscore the Domino’s 30-minute guarantee, Mayor Binay ordered 30 large pizzas from Marvin Plaza, to be delivered to the gathering at Strumms. A large digital timer then began counting down, while the eager guests witnessed their pizzas actually being made.

The pizzas arrived exactly 23 minutes later, much to the delight of the crowd. Television host Sam Oh then led a short program, underscored by key messages delivered by the following luminaries:

·         Mr. Tong Hong, President and CEO of Domino’s Pizza Philippines
·         Mr. Steven Pizziol, Domino’s International Vice President for the Asia Pacific Region
·         Mr. Kenny Oh, owner of Domino’s Pizza Korea and one of the partners of Domino’s Pizza Philippines

Also present during the event were the top management of Goldilocks Bakeshop, Inc., which is the local retail partner of Domino’s in the Philippines. These included Finance Director Richard Yee, Marketing Director Pinky Yee, and Store Operations Director Franklin Go.

Domino's Pizza Press Launch

Pizza parlors is one of the American culture that I like. An American pizza is really bigger than the average pizza and I only see it at Domino's and I am glad that Domino's is back again in the Philippines. Last February 10 in Makati, Dominos' had a press launch.

Not only that they already opened along Pasong Tamo, the event also introduced the people responsible for bringing Domino's Pizza back in the Philippines.

Domino's guarantee that they deliver pizza within 30 minutes and fresh from the oven with their thermal delivery bags or your pizza's free.We even had a pizza delivery treat courtesy of Makati Mayor Junjun Binay. I even took home some leftover slices and my sister didn't wait for it to be reheated because it was really that good. You can also check out their outlet in Tiendesitas along Julio Vargas. Event was hosted by Sam Oh.
